Now here is two leaders in the music scene you would not picture hanging out and making a music video together; Skrillex and Rick Ross. It’s the lead single off the new Suicide Squad album, so I guess it fits right in with the theme of unlikely team’s being formed. What’s even crazier is they actually got Jared Leto (who plays the new Joker) to not just cameo but basically play a featured role for the music video. It’s a trap single, primarily Rick Ross rapping over a Skrillex beat, but Skrillex also chopped and screwed Rick Ross’s lyrics over the chorus as well. Keys N Krates are an electronic music trio from Toronto, Canada, signed to Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records. Nothing But Space is our favorite track off their new EP, you can listen to the whole 6-track Midnite Mass – EP on SoundCloud, and there’s download links below. Keys N Krates broke onto the scene in 2013 with Treat Me Right, and then their explosive hit Dum Dee Dum. NYC producer Brenmar (from Chicago) teams up with NJ’s UNiiQU3 on the vocals. Brenmar blends R&B, hip-hop and club music with some serious horns for this jam. Jan 23 saw the release of United We Are, the debut studio album for House producer Hardwell. One of the most unique tracks off the album is an EDM/Rock mashup featuring Harrison, best known for vocals in David Guetta’s Ain’t A Party. You can find the first 1:48 of the song below (ugh, hate it when artists don’t put the full song on SoundCloud). A (mediocre) music video was also released. Two other songs worth checking out are Don’t Stop The Madness with W&W ft Fatman Scoop, and the self titled single United We Are ft Amba Shephard (could have used more vocals). The French DJ and producer Martin Solveig returns from an almost 2 year hiatus since his 2013 hit Hey Now when he teamed up with The Cataracs. This time he’s working with miami EDM duo GTA for a new sound. The unique combination of the trumpet heavy bassline and soft vocals makes for a beat that’s intoxicating (sorry I had to). If you haven’t already check out (and even if you have you should revisit) his 2012 single The Night Out, previously to that he had Big in Japan, Ready To Go, and in 2010 his breakout single (and my favorite music video from him) Hello. Jaymes Young got his start with the EP of his first single Dark Star, over a year ago. It was a selection of “bedroom-produced, darkly downbeat, sparse confessionals”. You can hear the original Dark Star on SoundCloud. In February an official music video came out. If you’re digging the sound, check out Jaymes Young’s lead single off his new EP titled Habits of My Heart. Since Dark Star first came out many remixes have come out, of which Kiely Rich’s is definitely my favorite, listen below. In case you missed it, this collaboration between Just Blaze and Baauer is one of my favorite songs of 2013. It seems like an unlikely collaboration. Just Blaze, famous in the hip-hop scene since 97 for working on iconic song with artists like Jay-Z and Eminem. And then there’s Baauer, who’s only been around for 2 years but rocketed to fame by his viral Harlem Shake hit. But somehow the two linked up for an epic tour that resulted in “Higher,” one of the genre-defining tracks between hip-hop and electronic dance music; Trap. The song, including the main line “Turn The Music Higher” by Jay-Z, is kind of a rework of “U Don’t Know,” which was originally produced by Just Blaze more than 10 years ago on The Blueprint album. There’s a interesting interview with Just Blaze and Baauer on how the track came to be, on HuffingtonPost, worth the read. Released under Thump, a short film was made for the music video. The video is produced by Nabil who’s behind many popular artists’ videos such as Skrillex, Kanye, Nicki Minaj, John Legend and many more.

David Guetta’s latest music video is more like a short film, the song doesn’t really even start till 4 minutes in to the video. The video shows Guetta at a Formula One racetrack dueling another driver, JP, in their quest for league domination. His last music video Lovers on the Sun was pretty over the top as well. Calvin Harris has released his first music video since the launch of his new album Motion on November 4th. It’s the third music video from the album following Outside ft. Ellie Goulding and Blame ft. John Newman.  You might recognize the beat from his previously released C.U.B.A track, now revamped with Big Sean on vocals. Overall, Motion is probably the most impressive album we’ve come across in a while, almost ever track on the album could be released as it’s own single.

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding are re-united after their 2012 hit together I Need Your Love. Harris's new album Motion is due out November 4. The last track to come out from it was the music video for Blame ft John Newman. We still have tracks featuring Gwen Stefani and Big Sean to look forward to leaking. Majid Jordan, the duo comprised of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman from Toronto, first came on the scene with their collab with Drake titled Hold On, We’re Going Home. How'd this young duo score a collab with a big name like Drake? Well besides that their both from Toronto, Majid Jordan is signed to OVO Sound, a record label co-founded by Drake. Their premier EP containing 5 tracks and is available on iTunes and Spotify. The video is created by a neat Toronto video production company called Common Good. Our free download today comes from Toronto Artist/Producer Tep No. Even before I heard he was from Toronto I thought he had a bit of a The Weeknd sound to him. Tep No gained some traction when his Promises single took off with 2800+ upvotes on Hypem and 400,000 listens when it was posted on MrSuicideSheep’s youtube channel here.
