How IBM Watson Could Change Healthcare http://mitchmckenna.com/post/9126/perspectives-on-watson-healthcare

Now this is where I see Watson being used in the future. We all take advice from our doctors, but wouldn't it be nice to get a statistical opinion on what the solution to your ailment might be? Doctor's could use Watson to get alternative opinions, options the doctor might not thought of on his own. Watson could have years of your medical records to base answers on, something a doctor might easily overlook.

Check out a couple of my other favorite videos on Watson: The Face of Watson and Building Watson: The DeepQA Project.

IBM Watson: The Face of Watson http://mitchmckenna.com/post/9101/ibm-watson-the-face-of-watson

Preparing Watson for the Jeopardy stage posed a unique challenge to the team: how to represent a system of 90 servers and hundreds of custom algorithms for the viewing public. IBM, in collaboration with a team of partners, created a representation of this computing system for the viewing audience; from its stage presence to its voice. Who knew the spinning sphere had so much meaning?! Check out another one of my favorite Watson videos Building Watson. Tomorrow, Febuary 14, 2011, America will witness Watson compete on Jeopardy on TV against two of the show's biggest winners Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.
