Rachet is a css framework to quickly prototype an app before you build it natively. Or maybe you decide to make your native app a webapp wrapper, you can build the whole thing on Rachet. Rachet recently got folded into the Bootstrap Organization.

Origami is a free toolkit for Quartz Composer—created by the Facebook Design team—that makes interactive design prototyping easy and doesn’t require programming.

At only 3kb when gzipped, it is a lightweight and efficient library. Hammer doesn't require jQuery or other libraries to work. A jQuery plugin is available though. Hammer supports Tap, DoubleTap, Swipe, Drag, Pinch, and Rotate gestures.

Pretty neat to see why some of the features in Facebook Home work the way they do. I really like a lot of the stuff here, if I could run it on my iphone I'd try it out for a while.

On May 8th, the designers behind Facebook Home (Justin Stahl, Francis Luu, Joey Flynn and Mac Tyler) presented a behind-the-scenes look at their work at the Bluxome Street Winery for a small crowd. In this four-part talk, they discuss how they combined their high-level goals with an iterative process and interactive design tools such as Quartz Composer to bring the first version of Home to launch.

As we have seen with all of the Galaxy S series phones, Samsung has released its own commercial for the new Galaxy Tab. The 30-second spot showcases the way the Tab can fit into your busy lifestyle, and should be a big hit with it's upbeat feel and cheery atmosphere. Perhaps the most anticipated tablet expected to hit the market in the coming year. Today Samsung released a short teaser video for the Galaxy Tab that confirms many features including video calling, HD movie playback, an e-reader, Flash support, Swype, and GPS Navigation.

The device will also be running Android 2.2. This may be the only look we get before its official reveal on Sept 2nd at IFA in Berlin.

OVK Parents of Child Road Victims wanted to make people aware of the danger, and start this smart little viral campaign. Man does Apple know how to make things pretty - both products and ads. I followed the announcement, and I'll be honest I wasn't really impressed, but somehow after watching this ad you can't help but want one. They introduce that wifi FaceTime in a way you forget we've been doing video convos over skype for years, lol. The open standard is cool (who defines this standard though? apple?) That antenna built into the frame is pretty smart (if it works). All that glass and HD screen looks pretty sleek. What do you guys think?
