Tired of facebook and other video services taking down your videos because you used copyright songs in it? Here's a neat solution.

Spotify recently butchered the ability to play local MP3's. They removing the ability to sort local files by recently added, local file search, and the ability to add files to a playlist. So after giving iTunes another shot (unsuccessfully), I was on the hunt for a music player for mac which could monitor a folder for new MP3's and I could play by recently added. Tomahawk fit the bill, and it's open source to boot.

Betterwithmusic.com offers original music conceived for use in all kinds of audiovisual projects: films, short movies, animations, documentaries, advertisment, corporate image, multimedia, TV, radio… and of course, for download and personal use (and enjoyment).

Anyone know of anything else like this?

I usually avoid TED videos that look like it's just a music performance, I'm glad I clicked on this one however, he goes into how the best music is usually based on another song in the past, and how re-sampling is an art form.

The Motion Project combines the collective talents of musicians, dancers, programmers, designers and animators to create an amazing visual instrument. It uses the power of the Kinect to capture movement and translate it into music which is performed live and projected on a huge wall.

The Motion Project was a collaboration between a lot of clever creative people working together to create a machine that turns motion into music. The client of the project, Frucor (makers of V energy drink), have a history of creating incredible and over the top projects and events. Together with their agency Colenso BBDO, they kitted-out a warehouse space for this project to grow in and gathered together a group of talented people from a number of creative fields to collaborate together.

Now this is pretty damn cool! The Gorillaz have realeased a 15 minute featurette called Journey To Plastic Beach. This is like a short movie and the animation is phenomenal!

The short animation, from the award winning Jamie Hewlett, sees Gorillaz mastermind Murdoch tell the story behind the album 'Plastic Beach'. The film combines previous Gorillaz videos with new and unseen footage, and finally it all makes sense. The Gorillaz characters even come face to face with their real life counterparts!
