An open source library for creating xkcd-like comics with standard web technologies. It is built on top of Yeoman and works by converting HTML with a specific format into comics elements. The library comes with a web-based editor for instantly seeing the output of the HTML.

Former Twitter developer and probably most popular for being the co-founder of Bootstrap, Jacob Thornton (aka Fat), did a comical and quite entertaining talk at dotJS 2012 on the history of popular Open Source projects. With him being a successful serial open source contributor, it's interesting to hear his views (20 minutes in) on why he does it and surprisingly some of the downsides of it.

Think this is the first TED talk I've seen that involved open source programming, he gives some great analogies and definitely tailored the talk to his audience so non-techies could understand.

Mark Shuttleworth gave a talk at OSCON 2012 titled "Making Magic From Cloud To Client" where he explained one of Canonical's new projects Juju and how it can be used to help crowdsource the difficult task of configuring and deploying software across multiple local, virtual and server environments.

Through the use of charms, juju provides you with shareable, re-usable, and repeatable expressions of DevOps best practices. You can use them unmodified, or easily change and connect them to fit your needs. Deploying a charm is similar to installing a package on Ubuntu: ask for it and it’s there, remove it and it’s completely gone.
