These Bluetooth connection issues sound like a big issue for Pebble on iPhone (and a real annoyance). This is not the first time I read about it on gdgt either, @plasanti mentions it in his review too http://gdgt.com/allerta/pebble/reviews/vfg/#post-id-163785. The Bluetooth connection dropping is probably expected to happen, the issue is you shouldn't have to bump the notification settings, Pebble should do that automatically.

You mentioned your phone doesn't vibrate for notifications anymore since the Pebble looks after that - interesting, does the Pebble do this by default or did you manually turn off phone notification vibrations once you got the Pebble?

I want one, for the design and the software, although I'll admit I probably don't need it since I run with my phone (for music) anyway. What made you decide on this instead of using your phone?

Commented on Mitchellmckenna's Apple iPhone 5 review http://mitchmckenna.com/post/12015/commented-on-mitchellmckennas-apple-iphone-5-review

@patrickmckenna It's not fair for me to compare it to the 2 year old Droid X, but I'm a fairly heavy user, and I'm able to get an entire day out of it. Your Galaxy Nexus has a 1750 mAh battery and the iPhone 5 is rumored to only have a 1,400mAh, while new phones like the Galaxy S III have a impressive 2100 mAh (imagine if I could put one of those in my iphone!). It comes down to how much your OS/Apps are draining your battery, Apple has always been more restrictive to apps for this reason. PS. You should see if there might be a Jelly Bean battery fix available for your Nexus.

Commented on timchoi89's Apple EarPod review http://mitchmckenna.com/post/11996/commented-on-timchoi89s-apple-earpod-review

I was surprised to read you thought they were so comfortable, as they are hard plastic after all. When I got mine, I tried putting them in my ears like I do all my previous in-ear headphones and it was painful, I then figured out they just kind of sit on the outside of your ear canal, almost feeling like they could fall out really, different than the rubbery ones I'm used to which you basically shove in as far as they'll go.

Commented on NotHotWater's Drobo FS review http://mitchmckenna.com/post/11932/commented-on-nothotwaters-drobo-fs-review

I haven't looked into the file-sharing/streaming (NAS) market very much, but I've gotten the impression that Drobo markets the Drobo and Drobo S as backup tools and the Drobo FS for NAS (+ backup). It's got a steep price tag, but seems to be the del facto personal NAS storage device. Especially for people looking to avoid the headaches that come with building your own NAS (FYI for the techy types who ARE looking to build their own NAS my buddy Frank Leng has a great article here: http://frankleng.me/2010/05/01/zfs-powered-nas-the-ultimate-alternative-to-drobo-droboshare-the-complete-guide/).What were some of the alternatives you looked at like the cheaper SynologyDiskStation DS712+ (http://gdgt.com/synology/diskstation/ds712-plus/), and what made you go with Drobo FS?

I as well looked at a tablet as a nice-to-have-but-unneeded device until I finally got one, i've changed my mind, it's so good for a distraction-free media consumption device. Now that the Kindle Fire HD is out, if someone asked you which device you recommend which one would you pick?

These look like the speakers sit flush against your ears, is it less comfortable than other over-the-ear headsets which create a hollow where you ear goes inside?

I'm a little jealous, I haven't gotten my hands on one of these to try out yet, it's one of the few laptop's on my WANT list that I think competes with Apple in the design category. What convinced you to buy this over competing laptops?
