Ryan Smith over at anandtech.com gives a great overview of Microsoft's pre-beta of the Windows 8 tablet interface from Anaheim, California at Microsoft’s BUILD conference.

Microsoft’s tagline for BUILD is that “Windows 8 changes everything”, and you will be using Windows 8 significantly differently from Windows 7. The big thing with Windows 8 is Metro. It's a very touch-friendly interface to Windows, not replacing the Windows desktop you know, but complimenting it. Metro includes many of the features found in other tablet OS's including an app store and lots of swipe interfaces.

The Galaxy Player is an Android 2.1 media player, and it looks like the first device to really go toe to toe with Apple's iPod Touch. It's got a 2MP camera, 8GB or 16GB internal memory along with a microSD slot, an FM radio, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.2-inch screen, built-in DivX support. And access to the Android Market.

As we have seen with all of the Galaxy S series phones, Samsung has released its own commercial for the new Galaxy Tab. The 30-second spot showcases the way the Tab can fit into your busy lifestyle, and should be a big hit with it's upbeat feel and cheery atmosphere. You can check it out after the jump, and keep an eye out for it on your television -- I have a feeling there's going to be one heck of a push behind this one.

Perhaps the most anticipated tablet expected to hit the market in the coming year. Today Samsung released a short teaser video for the Galaxy Tab that confirms many features including video calling, HD movie playback, an e-reader, Flash support, Swype, and GPS Navigation.

The device will also be running Android 2.2. This may be the only look we get before its official reveal on Sept 2nd at IFA in Berlin.

Samsung's 14-inch transparent OLED laptop from CES 2010. One of the reasons why OLED technology is cool is the fact that you can create a semi-transparent OLED screen. We’re not quite sure how useful this technology really is, except for looking through your laptop when everyone thinks you’re looking at it, but imagining a future with a bunch of semi-transparent gadgetry around us somehow fills us with glee. Samsung has decided to take a step into the future, creating a 14-inch notebook prototype with a semi-transparent screen.
