This idea came from the aether; it emerged over time. Several years ago (2012) while exploring my passion for black and white photography I found myself wandering into a look I call ‘Gotham’. I have a passion for timelapse as well, so it wasn’t long before the two processes started to merge in my mind, and the concept for Gotham City SF was born!

Over the intervening years I have collected and edited this footage while juggling my freelance career and time working at Lytro (a new camera technology). This film means a lot to me. It is one of the biggest personal projects I’ve ever worked on. I searched for music for months. Finally deciding to work with James Everingham: a talented 14 year old from the UK. My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people. Dubai may be home to the world’s most outrageous skyline but Dubai’s desert dunes and historical creek are where you’ll find its soul.

Part I/IV of a timelapse series through the always changing landscapes of New Zealand. Shot over 4 month, travelling through amazing landscapes, sleeping under the stars, hiking on mountains and exploring remote roads. Locations in this video where at Fjordland NP, Mount Cook NP and Arthurs Pass NP, Mavora Lakes and Lake Ohau.

This is where I live, amazing.

"Adrift" is a love letter to the fog of the San Francisco Bay Area. I chased it for over two years to capture the magical interaction between the soft mist, the ridges of the California coast and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. This is where “Adrift” was born.

It's crazy to think, I've lived in SF for over 3 years now. I now recognize almost all the places in this video now.

The "Empty America" series begins in San Francisco. From the Golden Gate Bridge to Fisherman's Wharf to Lombard Street to Ghirardelli Square to the Bay Bridge - get a good look at some of San Francisco's most iconic landmarks (wiped empty of tourists and traffic).

The folks at Hypno SF have made a series of mesmerizing animated motion photographs (full gallery) of various locales in San Francisco. They incorporated the dizzying images into a music video directed by Kevin Perry for Water Falls, a song by Kalle Mattson.

Shot on the Mark II by Sean Stiegemeier Shot over the past year while I was traveling. I had never really done any time-lapse before this, so it was fun to learn. Numerous locations include: Prague, Japan, Banff, Utah, Oregon, California, and more...

All shot from the Atlantis hotel, to be used in documentary on Dubai Royal Family. First sequence and penultimate sequence done with Panasonic GF1, the rest with the Canon 5DmkII and Canon 7D.

Story: When my roommate passed along a link containing a talk by a filmmaker regarding hard work and dedication to film, i was struck by what he challenged us to do. The challenge was to go out and shoot a whole month of sunrises in a row.

Too many times we forget that with passion comes dedication and hard work. What we learned is that it's often in these small moments of beauty, that we are able to peak into the glory of an amazing God.

I shot this film in april 2006 during a 3 week stay in NYC. It was an incredible time, the city holds so many surprises. I shot it with a Canon 400D (ruining it, the shutter gave out :-) I´ve had lots of help with this project, enabling shots from the german embassy and even out of the 44th floor of the Crysler Building. It is the first of a series of city portraits , coming soon: Hong Kong, Shanghai and Istanbul so stay tuned. Cast: Max Moos

Nov 9th 2007 - Nov 13th 2008. One year on foot - 4646km through China. Unlimited beard & hair growth.

Additional info: - I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the desert of Gobi, and then decided to stop walking for now. - All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi has been completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things. - I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful. - Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues. - The songs I used in the video are 1) Zhu Fengbo - "Olive Tree" and 2) The Kingpins - "L'aventurier" - visit the Kingpins website if you want to know more, they are very cool I think. - This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting. - The core of this project is in fact my website "www.thelongestway.com" where I have posted my extensive travel diary, starting from day 1 (Nov 9th 2007) and describing every single day until the end one year later.
