I haven't looked at linux theme's in a while, but this one is really nice. Works on just about every distro of Linux.

I kind of like how they kept the Ubuntu feel, and how someone has finally done a different app launcher than the home-screen grid of icons.

This morning, as expected after the phone announcement, Canonical have unveiled a new ‘tablet’ version of Ubuntu. It shares some of the Ubuntu Phone OS elements, but it also comes with new features such as a "Side Stage" which lets you use phone and tablet apps in the same time. Mark Shuttleworth gave a talk at OSCON 2012 titled "Making Magic From Cloud To Client" where he explained one of Canonical's new projects Juju and how it can be used to help crowdsource the difficult task of configuring and deploying software across multiple local, virtual and server environments.

Through the use of charms, juju provides you with shareable, re-usable, and repeatable expressions of DevOps best practices. You can use them unmodified, or easily change and connect them to fit your needs. Deploying a charm is similar to installing a package on Ubuntu: ask for it and it’s there, remove it and it’s completely gone.

It's been a while since we heard much about the gorgeous linux distro elementary OS, but they've been chugging along making progress towards an official release. An intelligent search-based approach to finding and accessing menu items you need. HUD is capable of remembering what items you use most often and prioritizing them in the results. It's a lot like app launchers such as GNOME Do or my recent favorite Synapse, but is more context aware as all the commands in the current application's menus are included.
