Symbian Foundation opens smartphone kernel source code

The Symbian Foundation has opened the source code of Symbian's EKA2 kernel and is making it available under the Eclipse Public License. It's a key milestone in the foundation's open source roadmap, but Symbian still faces a tough battle against Android and the iPhone.
