Some great suggestions in here. I've been avoiding buying a car for just those reasons, even though those around me tell me "dude, you NEED a car". I've been told by several people this is the time when I need to pay off my student loan asap. Get that out of the way before, stuff starts piling up like a mortgage, car payments, etc. Ps. Loved the line: "Yes, a degree is just a piece of paper, but so is your paycheck."
